Volunteer Positions
We are seeking interested volunteers to assist with the following roles. Please also check out our short term volunteer opportunities.
Treasurer - 2026-27 School Year
Manages all club finances, including budgeting, tracking income/expenses, banking, and ensuring tax compliance, acting as the financial steward for the organization to maintain stability and fund program needs, requiring strong attention to detail, integrity, and accounting skills for record-keeping and reporting. Key duties involve overseeing deposits, paying bills, creating financial statements, reconciling accounts, and assisting with tax filings (like 501(c)(3) compliance).
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Custody of funds, managing and reconciling bank accounts, handling all deposits and disbursements.
- Record Keeping: Maintaining detailed books (QuickBooks Online), bank statements, receipts, invoices, expenditure approvals, and financial records for several years (all digitally).
- Budgeting: Working with the board to develop, monitor, and present the annual budget.
- Reporting: Presenting detailed financial statements and cash balances at meetings and assisting with audits.
- Compliance: Ensuring adherence to IRS regulations, completing monthly sales tax forms online, providing CPA with annual financial information for annual tax returns, and maintaining 501(c)(3) status.
- Fundraising Support: Tracking fundraising income and ensuring efficient use of funds.
- Membership Dues: Collecting, depositing, and recording membership fees.
Essential Skills & Qualities:
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Financial/accounting experience
- Integrity and trustworthiness
- Ability to work collaboratively with the board
- Knowledge of QuickBooks Online and Google Docs/Sheets/Drive
Typical Commitment:
- 2 year term
- Availability to attend board meeting (typically evenings of 2nd Tuesday of each month)
- 5-8 hours per month, with peaks during budget season.
Volunteer Coordinator - 2026-27 School Year
- Create Sign ups for various events requiring parent volunteers.
- Representatives from various committees and/or events email you, and you put the sign up together, send it to Fremd Booster volunteers and post on each class’ Facebook page.
- For large events like YH4L, you coordinate with their representatives as well.
Prom Enhancement Committee - 2026-27 School Year
- Meet with the Fremd teacher (Prom Advisor) to discuss the theme that has been selected by the
Junior Class Cabinet and see what assistance they could use - This year, we are helping with decorations for dance, such as balloon arches and other ideas to
decorate the ballroom- work with the theme and budget - Brainstorm ideas to try to encourage students to stay longer at Prom. A problem we’ve had is that
students eat and leave after photos. Some ideas: photo booth (already set up), raffle prices for
concert tickets/gift cards are what they are doing this year- will announce winners later in the
evening
